The only downside is that this is a SLOW BURN. Prepare for epic lady blue balls. While these men are super alpha protective and clearly desire her, they also have a lot of pent up anger and frustration at her abandonment- and they want to make her suffer. And while Oli finds her men irresistible, she’s resolved to not complete the bond with them because of the danger she thinks it poses- so, basically the result is a story full of sexual tension with no gratification. A lot of chemistry and brewing steam, but the actual steam minus a glimmer at the end isn’t even YA level. We’ll get there- and it will be explosive, but for now prepare to get all hot and bothered and have to wait for it. I also hope we get future stories that include some chapters from the guys’ POV- I appreciated not having them in this story because it built the mystery and emotional tension, but now I’m desperate to get inside their heads. Goldstein, Hilary (November 18, 2008). "Naruto: The Broken Bond Review". IGN. Archived from the original on October 6, 2015 . Retrieved July 26, 2015. No, he literally just forced himself on her ON-SCREEN while she struggled to pull away from him. Gross.🤮🤮🤮

Can I give this more than 5 stars? I AM OBSESSED. I DEVOURED THIS STORY RAVENOUSLY. It has been a long time since I’ve been so consumed in a new world. Broken Bonds is such a fresh and engaging take on the fated mates concept- we’ve got a little bit of magic, a lot of danger and suspense, scrumptious love-hate chemistry, a harem full of deliciously protective alpha men, a heroine that I’m madly in love with, and a central mystery that kept me on my toes. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS STORY- my favorite J Bree book to date, and I’m not even a huge PNR person- that’s just how good it is! This has all my favourite things wrapped up in a beautiful cover: badass heroine, immaculate world building, everyone has different magical abilities, fantastic pacing, all the guys (Gabe, Gryphon, Atlas, North & Nox) are so completely different, and so mysterious. You should have trusted us… whatever happened in that hospital room that made you run away, you should have run to us instead.”

That campus sounds like the most toxic place in the world. No-one is nice to each other. Everyone is out to get you and mean girls and boys are the standard personality. Starting the review with the first three books of the series in my mind and honestly they were absolutely perfect. They were lighthearted, easygoing, plot and character driven with smut so good you'll want more. The fourth and fifth books, although average but still enjoyable especially the way they ended and with the character development for Nox taking the wheel. Part of why I feel this may have hit me so hard was that I have been super emotional for the last couple of months because it just happened to be what would have been my 20th wedding anniversary, what would have been my hubby's 40th birthday, and then the one-year anniversary of his death. They say time heals all wounds, which I'm sure is true, but in my mom's grief support group, many people who lost loved ones suddenly/unexpectedly said the second year is worse than the first. I kinda scoffed at that. Now though I've realized the majority of the first year I spent sort of numb. Feeling like it was just surreal and not in denial per se but obtusely ignoring it. Get medical help as soon as possible if you think you've broken a bone. If you think you may have broken your toe or finger, you can go to a minor injury unit or urgent care centre.

Yeah, I think that's all I'm going to say here because I no longer have the motivation or energy to comment on all the other wrong things I read. But don't fret, there was also some good stuff that actually made me want to keep reading the series (aside from my friend Chiara bullying me into it).The party has broken their bonds, and they explore the paths that are available to them. A kid to return, an old god to accidentally encounter, and a trip to the land of shadows. I liked it, that the story started and ended with the dead guys, so that we know that at some point they will be all together again. I was led from heartbreak to bittersweet. Destroyed and healed in some way. While I still process, and I’m not really satisfied now with it being over. enemies to lovers - the guys LOATHE Oleander and she tries so hard to hate them as well. If J Bree has mastered anything, it has to be the enemies to lovers trope.

North: “Having you here where I can keep an eye on you is a means of freedom for you. The alternative is to chain you by the throat to the floor in my cellar. I won't be pleased to do that but make no mistake, Fallows, I will keep you here.” Somewhere during this quest there's mention of a flare/distress beacon/something that triggers the assault on the island, which is likely there to support the "concurrent timeline" angle, and is intended to be the same signal that Naryu fires off during Broken Bonds. This is never actually clarified, but it would be easier if one or other mention of the distress signal is cut. Then we get into the plot... one of the alphas had only 3 or 4 interactions and not even a full conversation with the omega when they kiss and this isn't until 70% or so of the book.... Like don't get me wrong im all for some insta love but she literally lost all 4 of her alphas and she jus ready and rearing to go suddenly? in the scene in the kitchen with in a few paragraphs her heart is suddenly fixed???? in a tiny bikini that makes mine look freaking supersized. To be honest, it’s not even a bikini, she’s wearing some red string that just barely covers her nipples and slit." The guys are essentially assholes. I get it, you know? They felt hurt and betrayed by her absence. However, I don't think it's a sufficient excuse for the shitty treatment they gave her. Here are some examples from each of the guys:

Electrophile: An electron deficient atom, ion or molecule that has an affinity for an electron pair, and will bond to a base or nucleophile. During your little one’s early years, the bond you build is naturally made stronger. Physical touch, interaction and other caring behaviours all intensify this attachment bond and oxytocin production, allowing your child to feel safe and secure. Feeling safe in this way helps babies to learn and develop more easily – because they trust that you are there for them if anything goes wrong.
