Description

Another possibility with the Nexus 7 is to use another Amcrest app called the Amcrest View app occupying half of the screen and HA running on Opera on the other half. HA will report the doorbell push and two-way communications and view through the doorbell camera are good on the View app. Although I haven’t yet found how to do it, I think it should be possible to corral the two apps in their own halves.

Amcrest video doorbell AD110 initial impressions - Hardware

Today I am sharing my setup for a fully offline video doorbell in Home Assistant. The live video feed, motion sensor, and doorbell button are all integrated into Home Assistant over local IP. This allows me to view the feed and create automations, securely, without exposing my camera to the outside world and without relying on a cloud-connected service. The Doorbell I have several kiosk tablets around the house running Fully Kiosk, so the first automation I set up was to bring up the live feed on each tablet when the doorbell is pressed. I used Node-RED for the automation, but this could very easily be scripted out in YAML. It consists of three service calls: Compounding the matter even worse...motion detection is based on the substream and look at the substream FPS - they dropped down to below 6 FPS with an iframe/key rate of 0.25 - you will miss motion most of the time with that issue... Let me get this straight first - I love my HA deployment and consider it superior to any other automation solution I’ve seen…with one exception: I set motion detection range to low end because of nearby trees. Detection was sensitive enough and not too many false positive, yet. I’ve tried resetting it by holding down the button but if it does reset there is no indication it has.

Sure I could put the AD110 on a separate network with unrestricted internet and let it rat me out to the Chinese marketeers, but then I have to play firewall games. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with this camera yet but sometimes iIt's just not worth it to beat them at their own game and just go without. Thanks, I feel better now. If you have not previously set up MQTT, follow this guide to set up your broker. Also, make sure your configuration.yaml contains "mqtt:" to enable device discovery.

First, it has an RTSP feed for recording locally with home NVR software. Second, it has a local API to get motion sensor and doorbell events.
