Suddenly, the question isn’t just whether the couple’s marriage will survive another year… but whether they themselves will live to see their next anniversary at all. Robin sneaks into the chapel after Amelia and Adam are asleep, locking and unlocking doors and leaving items for them to discover. She recounts his work with beautiful A-list actor October O’Brien, who wanted to turn Rock Paper Scissors into a movie before her suicide at age 30. The book ends by casting doubt on whether Robin's description of her relationship with her father was accurate (or whether it was the product of an overactive imagination) and it leaves open the possibility that some of the strange occurrences in the house were ghostly in nature.

Through out the book Amelia would twist her ring around everything she would get nervous, so I found it hard to believe when Robin said that the ring would not come off. I did like the book, I would like a hint before, though, it was difficult to continue reading sometimes when nothing seemed to have sense.

It begins with Paul Ehrenfest, an Austrian physicist and close friend of Einstein, who fell into despair when he saw science and technology become tyrannical forces; it ends a hundred years later, in the showdown between the South Korean Go Master, Lee Sedol, and the AI program AlphaGo.
