About this deal

As for the romance, I wish Ivy showed her love as freely as Aiden did, but I understood why she couldn't all the time. Towards the end of the book, I truly did appreciate her even though I never really fell in love with her. All in all this was still a great read from an incredibly talented author and I can't wait to see what she does next!! Ivy was the perfect main character because she symbolizes a very common person in our world today that no one wants to talk about. The book starts with Skylar succumbing to peer pressure and going to a party, drinking too much and waking up the next day in someone's bed and not remembering anything but it's obvious she lost her virginity. The party was at the fooball team's house so DJ and Aiden (from the first book) witness her walk of shame. As with all of B. Celeste's books, this book didn't disappoint. It was funnier and more entertaining than other books I read by this author, but still managed to delivered a great emotional punch. My rage was without bounds; I sprang on him, impelled by all the feelings which can arm one being against the existence of another.

Aiden was having big dreams and he was working very hard to achive his goals, but he couldn't lose Ivy for a second time... How can I move thee? Will no entreaties cause thee to turn a favourable eye upon thy creature, who implores thy goodness and compassion? Believe me, Frankenstein, I was benevolent; my soul glowed with love and humanity; but am I not alone, miserably alone? You, my creator, abhor me; what hope can I gather from your fellow creatures, who owe me nothing? They spurn and hate me. The desert mountains and dreary glaciers are my refuge. I have wandered here many days; the caves of ice, which I only do not fear, are a dwelling to me, and the only one which man does not grudge. These bleak skies I hail, for they are kinder to me than your fellow beings. If the multitude of mankind knew of my existence, they would do as you do, and arm themselves for my destruction. Shall I not then hate them who abhor me? I will keep no terms with my enemies. I am miserable, and they shall share my wretchedness. Yet it is in your power to recompense me, and deliver them from an evil which it only remains for you to make so great, that not only you and your family, but thousands of others, shall be swallowed up in the whirlwinds of its rage. Let your compassion be moved, and do not disdain me. Listen to my tale; when you have heard that, abandon or commiserate me, as you shall judge that I deserve. But hear me. The guilty are allowed, by human laws, bloody as they are, to speak in their own defence before they are condemned. Listen to me, Frankenstein. You accuse me of murder, and yet you would, with a satisfied conscience, destroy your own creature. Oh, praise the eternal justice of man! Yet I ask you not to spare me; listen to me, and then, if you can, and if you will, destroy the work of your hands." I was feeling so sad for her behalf on every level but she was proving to me over and over again how strong and determined she were, even though she was breaking inside. The gorgeous new covers for these books grabbed my attention, as did the premise. As someone who has discovered a newfound interest in football, I’m excited to dive into this series and put my knowledge to the test. The star of this book for me was definitely Danny aka DJ. I loved his character, his friendship efforts with Sky, his text exchanges with his awesome grandma and also how he tries to push Sky to seek help.I love Ivy even with her flaws and endless mistakes!!! This girl's actions and reactions could characterized as wrong from the mass, but if you will read this story, you will realize that Ivy was just a broken girl who was a survivor. Danny is attracted to the shy, mysterious girl who wants nothing with him and despite the rumors about her, he befriends her. Skylar was a shy person when she entered the freshman year of college. And it didn't start out well for her. She struggled to make friends and one traumatic experience led her to not trust anyone. Then comes Danny, my love, he tries to help her and helps her learn how to trust others. this book was pretty good. the first half had me hooked for sure but then the second half was… kind of a turn off?? it was just repetitive and boring tbh and bad. its like 2-3 star but im feeling generous so it can have a 3

From the fan-favorite author of Underneath the Sycamore Tree comes the first in a raw, real romance series following the lives of the Lindon U football players and the complicated girls who change their lives forever. I also liked the fact that she emphasized the struggle to get specialized help for mental issues when you have no money. I liked that the main characters kept talking about "what ifs." "What if she didn't leave." "What if he didn't let her go." "What would have happened if they made different choices." These things heightened the intensity of the story. I connect more with them through their pain and mistakes. It made me understand deeper and reflect why they did what they did. I may not agree with some of their justifications, especially with the heroine, but I grasped the true reasons behind their actions. Self-harm is a very serious matter, but there's no doubt that B. Celeste handled and delivered a story out of it very well. I make a face as I pour myself a cup of coffee since the one I brought didn’t cut it. I’ll need the extra caffeine after the last hour and a half turned into a nonstop morning rush. “I don’t know. I’m not sure what color I want to do next.”I do have to applaud B. Celeste for covering the topics of bullying, sexual assault, depression and anxiety very well. You could be surrounded by loads of people and still feel lonely. I couldn't help but fall in love with Ayden and Ivy. They are imperfect young people. They have both made mistakes, they both hurt, they both have dreams and want a better life and go about achieving that as best they can.

the beginning of this book had me so hyped for the smut. she had him in a choke hold and playing with his pp at 12% like…? so obviously, me being me, just expected good smut They have a very slow burn friends to lovers progression that is both super cute and heart warming. Second, there were some actions that Aiden did, that kinda bothered me. Young Aiden was perfect. This 21 year-old Aiden is pushy af. Sometimes I feel like he didn't respect (I'll use this word since it was thrown in the book couple of times) some of the heroine' s decision. Ivy was kind of annoying to me. I understood she went through hell and she is survivor. But I just did not like her character. Every time Aiden would try to help her, she would just turn him down and continuously question why he wanted to help her. And to some extent I understood why she was like that, but it got annoying at some parts and I just did not like her that much. Aiden was okay, I guess I liked him a more than Ivy but not by much. He was very sweet and selfless, but he was a bit pushy. I understand in some ways Ivy needed him to be a bit pushy, but it was just another thing that annoyed me. Thus I relieve thee, my creator," he said, and placed his hated hands before my eyes, which I flung from me with violence; "thus I take from thee a sight which you abhor. Still thou canst listen to me and grant me thy compassion. By the virtues that I once possessed, I demand this from you. Hear my tale; it is long and strange, and the temperature of this place is not fitting to your fine sensations; come to the hut upon the mountain. The sun is yet high in the heavens; before it descends to hide itself behind your snowy precipices and illuminate another world, you will have heard my story and can decide. On you it rests, whether I quit for ever the neighbourhood of man and lead a harmless life, or become the scourge of your fellow creatures and the author of your own speedy ruin."I’ve seen some of the players use the attention to their advantage, making me scoff every single time they convince some poor victim to help them with homework or papers or buy them something here at Bea’s.
