A session of Folklore doesn’t end in the fashion of most board games after a set number of turns or encounters but can simply draw to a close when you complete a story or chapter.

Just don’t come in expecting something as thoroughly developed as what you may expect in a proper tabletop RPG or in the Witcher games/books. In reality though, they are an expression, a manifestation of, a cultural fear of physical corruption and death. The chapters entail the heroes traversing the land of Kremel (the fictional European setting) and the players may chose to travel by road or less explored routes. Explore new combat mechanisms that can be used in this new box expansion as well as be added to the core game and Dark Tales expansion. The character sheets also display a variety of skills which can include archaeology, awareness, ecology, faith, nerve, occult, speech, and trickery.Adding to their line of uniquely thematic games, Folklore: The Affliction is an ambitious adventure-style game set in a dark fantasy world of horrifying creatures and dangerous landscapes. No board or computer game can perform the same fly by the seat of the pants sort of game mastering, in my opinion, a good roleplaying game session requires. The rules are broken into what I would describe as a quick start guide (designed to get you into the rules) followed by sections of more detailed reference rules you can turn to during play to flesh out any rules you pick up through the game play.
